PULSE JOURNAL

I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.
PSALMS 27:13-14

As I write this I am jacked about what the Lord is doing in our day!

Tonight I'm in Tacoma, WA and this is the fourth and final week I'm out here doing trainings for the upcoming Franklin Graham Festival at the Tacoma Dome. God has been doing amazing things these weeks.... both here and through PULSE events happening back home... and we are so grateful to play a part!

Yet tonight the Lord moved in a special way... He moved my heart!

In Luke 24:32, Jesus meets two men on the road to Emmaus. At the time they did not realize it was their risen Savior... but later they later recounted their experience by saying, "Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?"

When God moves, there is no mistaking His presence. There is no scientific formula for how, when, or where it will happen.... but there are some similar circumstances that often precede the Lord revealing Himself in our lives.

The Lord moves through prayer.

Few things can be guaranteed in life... but this is one that is sure as the air that you breathe: The Lord moves when we pray. Wherever we are at, by calling out to God in humility... He promises that He will come to our aid and bring His precense into our lives.

He says this, "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land (2 Chron 7:14)."

The Lord moves through His Word.

Just like the men on the road to Emmaus, God wants to make His Word burn within your heart and lfe. In fact, when you think of the millions of books, manuscripts, and documents throughout history... the Bible is the only one that God both inspired and promises to use in the lives of His people. To seek God's presence without the Word is like seeking directions without a map and compass. The Bible is the believers' map and direction for life.

Jesus said, "Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth (John 17:17)." and David said "I will bow down toward your holy temple and will praise your name for your love and your faithfulness, for you have exalted above all things your name and your word (Psalm 138:2)."

The Lord moves through Worship.

Or more specifically... the Lord moves through His Church. You see, there is something so powerful about the gathered body of Christ-followers that it can often cause His precense to be revealed in a unique and special way that happens in no other venue on earth. You can try to compare this to any gathering, concert, or sporting event on the face of the earth... but when true worship takes place with the Holy Spirit present, there is nothing that compares. Obviously worship needs to be a lifestyle which takes place both in private and corporate settings, but God created His people to need His church and the fellowship and communion that can only be found there.

"And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way." EPHESIANS 1:22-23

"Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching." HEBREWS 10:25

The Lord wants to move in your life.

Dear Friend, the Lord desires to move your heart! If you are reading this, He has a significant call on your life to know Him and to accomplish His purposes on this earth. If you have yet to surrender to his beckoning call, I ask you, what are you waiting for?

There is one named Jesus, who was and is the greatest and most compelling force that the earth has ever known. His name is love just as His name is wrath and one day He will judge you for the way you live your life. Jesus has been and will forever be victorious and ours is a world that is in desperate need of His precense.

To those who would call upon His name, He has passed on His life-giving mission to "Go" with love as our banner and passionate urgency as our pace. What are we waiting for?

This is a day of revival... it's a day to turn it all over to the King and run in passionate surrender after His mission on this earth!

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. GALATIANS 6:9

You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. JEREMIAH 29:13
